Just a few years ago, many people didn’t even know what a ‘blog’ was. Now it’s 2017 and more and more new blogs are being born every day. Blogging is a great way to turn a passion or hobby into a business that you love. I am a firm believer that you can make money blogging about ANY subject (if you do it right). In fact, the more obscure the topic, the less competition you are likely to have, and the result of that is that you will have more loyal readers! Today I’m sharing with you some profitable blog niches that have the potential to earn great money with affiliate marketing. Want to start your own blog? Check out my easy tutorial to get started!
1. How to make money online
Yup, you guessed it! It’s the question on everyones lips at the moment. Who wouldn’t want to quit their 9-5 and travel the world or be at home with their family while making money from their laptop?! There are thousands of blogs out there showing you how to make money online in many different ways, and some of the best ones are raking in thousands every month from affiliate marketing!
A personal favourite of mine is Emma Drew. Check out her latest online income report, Emma made £3718.99 from affiliate marketing alone in November 2016!
2. Food
Food blogging is really popular at the moment, as people are starting to become more conscious about what they are eating. I do have a few recipe books at home, but more often than not I will head to pinterest or google to search for tasty recipes, which will inevitably lead me to a food blog! Food bloggers can make affiliate commissions from recommending helpful products (such as the nutribullet). Money can also be made by recommending or writing their own recipe books, or courses.
Jessica Gavin publishes monthly income reports on her awesome food blog. In March 2017 she made $5097 from affiliate sales and sponsorships!
3. Health and Fitness
Along with paying more attention with what we eat, people are also taking better care of their bodies. Health and fitness blogs are a great source of inspiration for anyone looking to make a lifestyle change. Health and fitness bloggers can earn affiliate income by recommending their favourite products to their audience. Fitness equipment (such as the fitbit or exercise machines) can be quite expensive, so commissions are likely to be higher, making this one of the most profitable blog niches for affiliate marketing. Healthy recipe books are another great products to sell or recommend, as well as online courses for health and fitness.
Georgie from ‘In It 4 The Long Run’ talks about how to make money from your healthy living blog in this post. Considering Georgie only blogs part time, she’s doing great!
4. Romance
Dating and romance is another one of those things that people will ALWAYS be searching for online and looking for information on. Much like the health and fitness niche, love and dating is something that isn’t going away any time soon, making it one of the most profitable blog niches. Dating and romance bloggers can earn affiliate commissions by recommending the best dating sites, coaching programs, books, products and online courses to help people find the love of their lives.
5. Fashion
Fashion bloggers can make great money by photographing themselves looking gorgeous in designer clothes, and posting the pictures online. If a reader see’s something they love, they can click the link in the blog or instagram post and buy the item straight away. Fashion is a great niche, as trends are always changing and people are always buying clothes on impulse without putting too much thought into the purchase. Although fashion is quite a saturated niche, if you have great photography and writing skills, and are willing to put in the hard work, you can make sure you stand out from the crowd and get noticed.
6. Crafts and DIY
Crafts and DIY are fun projects that can easily be made at home. One of the most popular posts on one of my other blogs- Emily May Designs, is a tutorial on how to make a white feather lampshade. The tutorial contains affiliate links to the products needed for the project. So anytime someone makes a purchase, I receive a commission! This can be replicated with any DIY or craft tutorial. I also wrote some blog posts about how I built my camper van, with links to the products and materials I used for the project.
7. Home Decor
Home decor blogs are really popular at the moment. They are a great place for people to find inspiration for their own homes. If you love decorating your own home, then a home decor blog is a really fun way to share your projects and ideas! If you have a home decor blog, I would definitely recommend joining Affiliate Window. Affiliate window is a platform that allows you to join the affiliate programs of some of the best online retailers. The have hundreds of brands listed, so it makes it really easy for you to find your favourite products to recommend!
